Police have detained the property’s owner as forensic experts examine evidence in the investigation into the 10-year-old girl’s death at a private tuition centre.

Police have intensified their investigation after a 10-year-old girl was found dead inside the washroom of a private tuition centre, with forensic evidence sent for examination and the property’s owner taken into custody.

Following a post-mortem examination, authorities handed the girl’s body over to her family. According to the preliminary autopsy report, investigators found a clear ligature mark on her neck, while no signs of physical torture or sexual assault were detected.

Police said the washroom door was not locked when the incident was discovered. Investigators collected fingerprints and other evidence from the scene, which have been sent to a forensic laboratory to assist in determining the circumstances surrounding the child’s death.

As part of the ongoing probe, police have detained the owner of the property where the tuition centre operates. Authorities said further investigations are underway and are awaiting forensic findings before drawing conclusions.

The case was registered as murder after the girl’s father, Muhammad Adnan, filed a complaint with police.

According to investigators, the victim had left her home to attend classes at the private tuition centre, where she had reportedly been studying for the past one-and-a-half years alongside two other children from the same family.

She was later found unconscious inside the centre’s washroom. Despite efforts following the discovery, she could not be saved, prompting police to launch a homicide investigation.

Officials have urged the public to avoid speculation while forensic experts analyze the evidence and investigators work to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the child’s death.
