India Investigates Tata Data Leak That Exposed Apple iPhone Secrets

Indian authorities have launched an investigation into a major cybersecurity breach at Tata Electronics after confidential documents related to Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 Pro were leaked online. The country’s IT Ministry confirmed that the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) is investigating the incident.

According to reports a ransomware group published more than 200,000 files on the dark web, including supplier lists, component specifications, engineering documents, and images linked to Apple’s unreleased iPhone 18 Pro. The leaked data also reportedly contained files connected to Tesla, Qualcomm, and TSMC.

Tata Electronics, a key Apple manufacturing partner in India, said it had detected the cybersecurity incident and immediately activated its response protocols. The company has hired an external forensic cybersecurity expert to investigate the breach and strengthen its security systems.

The leak has raised concerns because Apple closely guards information about its products and global supply chain. Industry experts say exposing supplier networks and internal manufacturing documents could increase security risks and provide valuable information to competitors and cybercriminals.

Authorities are continuing their investigation, while Apple and Tata Electronics work to assess the full impact of the data breach.
