Meta launches Pocket AI app to enter gaming space
Meta has stepped into the AI-powered gaming market with the launch of Pocket, a new application that lets users create mini interactive games and digital experiences using simple text prompts.
Pocket is designed as a creative platform where users can build and share “gizmos”—small AI-generated interactive games and applications. The app also features a discovery feed, allowing users to explore and play creations shared by other users.
The launch follows Meta’s acquisition of a team from Gizmo, an AI-powered game creation platform, earlier this year. Screenshots from the Google Play Store show Pocket closely resembles Gizmo’s original app, which is still available for download. Both platforms allow users to generate interactive experiences using AI prompts and include a feed for discovering community-made content.
The app was first spotted by reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi, who shared screenshots of the Play Store listing on X, drawing attention to Meta’s latest AI project.
According to analytics firm Appfigures, Pocket appeared on both the Apple App Store and Google Play on June 29, 2026. Since the app has only recently launched, download figures have not yet been disclosed.
Meta has not officially commented on the release.
The company continues to expand its artificial intelligence ecosystem across its products. Recent AI updates include enhanced image generation through Meta AI, video creation features in Vibes, and new AI-powered editing tools in the Edits app for content creators.
Industry analysts believe Pocket is still in its early experimental phase. Meanwhile, Gizmo, the platform that inspired the app, recorded around 635,000 lifetime installs across iOS and Android, with Appfigures reporting an impressive 98% positive user sentiment.
