The Public Authority for Food and Nutrition launched a 48-hour inspection drive with multiple government agencies to strengthen food safety and protect consumers.

The Public Authority for Food and Nutrition (PAFN) in Kuwait has recorded 315 food safety violations during a large-scale 48-hour inspection campaign in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, seizing and destroying food deemed unfit for human consumption.
The operation was carried out in coordination with several government agencies as part of a broader security campaign aimed at enhancing public health, improving food safety standards, and ensuring compliance with Kuwait’s health regulations.
More Than 100 Inspectors Deployed
According to PAFN, the intensive campaign involved 102 food inspectors, who conducted extensive inspections of restaurants, food outlets, warehouses, and other food-related businesses across the area.
Inspectors examined food handling practices, storage conditions, hygiene standards, and regulatory compliance to ensure that products available to consumers met approved safety requirements.
During the inspections, authorities identified 315 violations related to food safety regulations and confiscated large quantities of food products found to be unsuitable for human consumption.
The seized food was immediately destroyed to prevent unsafe products from reaching consumers.
Public Health Remains Top Priority
PAFN said the inspection campaign reflects its ongoing commitment to protecting public health and maintaining high food safety standards throughout Kuwait.
The authority emphasized that regular inspections are essential to ensuring food businesses comply with national health regulations and that consumers have access to safe, quality food products.
Officials noted that enforcement actions will continue against establishments that fail to meet the country’s food safety requirements.
Nationwide Inspection Campaigns to Continue
The authority announced that similar inspection campaigns will continue across all six governorates of Kuwait in cooperation with relevant government agencies.
Future operations will focus on monitoring food establishments, identifying violations, and taking legal action where necessary to enforce food safety laws.
PAFN reaffirmed that it will apply the law strictly and without exception against businesses found violating food safety regulations.

Kuwaiti authorities said maintaining the highest standards of food safety remains one of the agency’s primary responsibilities.
Officials urged food business operators to fully comply with health regulations and proper food handling practices to safeguard public health and avoid legal penalties.
