Pakistan batter Saim Ayub produced a brilliant batting display as Jamaica Kingsmen defeated St Kitts and Nevis Patriots by 11 runs in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) at Warner Park on Thursday.
Ayub smashed his maiden T20 century, scoring 102 runs from 58 balls. His explosive innings included six fours and eight sixes.
His performance helped Jamaica Kingsmen post 182-7 after being asked to bat first.

Saim Ayub walked to the crease early after Pakistan fast bowler Naseem Shah dismissed Keacy Carty with the opening delivery of the match.
Batting at No. 3, Ayub immediately took responsibility against a strong St Kitts and Nevis Patriots bowling attack.
The Patriots attack included Naseem Shah, Jason Holder and Wanindu Hasaranga.
Jamaica Kingsmen struggled early and slipped to 63-4. However, Ayub remained composed and continued to attack the bowlers.
Captain Rovman Powell joined him at the crease and helped rebuild the innings.

Ayub and Powell added 72 runs for the fifth wicket.
Powell scored 21 from 17 deliveries before Hasaranga broke the partnership.
The wicket did little to slow Ayub. The Pakistan batter continued his aggressive approach and pushed the Kingsmen towards a competitive total.
Ayub eventually fell in the 19th over when Obed McCoy dismissed him with Jamaica on 164.
His 102-run innings proved crucial in giving the Kingsmen a strong platform for the final overs.
Keemo Paul then added valuable late runs. He remained unbeaten on 25 as Jamaica Kingsmen finished their innings on 182-7.
McCoy, Naseem Shah and Hasaranga took two wickets each for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.
St Kitts and Nevis Patriots needed 183 runs to win the match.
The Patriots fought hard during their chase but could not maintain the required scoring rate.
They finished their 20 overs on 171-6, falling 11 runs short of the target.
The result handed Jamaica Kingsmen an important victory in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League.
For St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, the defeat was their fourth of the tournament.
The Saim Ayub century was the standout moment of the match.
His 102 off 58 balls combined controlled stroke play with powerful hitting. His eight sixes helped Jamaica Kingsmen recover from early wickets and post a challenging total.
The innings also highlighted Ayub’s ability to perform under pressure in a high-profile T20 competition.
