Chinese firm introduces mass-produced ultra-bionic humanoid robots

 

 

Chinese technology company UBTech has introduced the world’s first full-size, mass-produced ultra-bionic humanoid robots.

China has taken another major step in humanoid robotics, with a leading technology company announcing the large-scale production of highly realistic AI-powered robots designed to closely resemble humans.

The new humanoid robots, called U World U One, are available in both male and female versions. The male model stands 183 centimetres tall, while the female model measures 169 centimetres. Despite their human-like appearance, each robot weighs about half as much as a person of a similar height.

The robots feature biomimetic skin and a dual-axis neck system connected to an artificial cervical spine, allowing them to perform nearly 90 percent of common human movements with natural-looking flexibility.

One of the standout features is their advanced facial expression technology, which synchronises speech, lip movements and facial expressions in less than 20 milliseconds. This enables smoother and more lifelike interactions with people.

The company has also equipped the robots with an AI-powered large language model that can recognise and respond to more than 20 different emotional states with over 90 percent accuracy, making conversations feel more natural and personalised.

According to the manufacturer, the U World U One series is intended for both personal and commercial use. Potential applications include companionship, emotional support, elderly care, lifestyle assistance, hospitality, reception services, tourism, exhibition guidance, education, scientific research and premium home services.

The company revealed that it has already received more than 10,000 pre-orders for the robots. Prices range from $17,000 to $145,000, depending on the model and features selected.

The first batch of deliveries is expected to begin in mid-September, marking another milestone in China’s rapidly growing artificial intelligence and robotics industry.
