Kohat Roof Collapse Death Toll Rises to 11 After Heavy Rains

The death toll from a roof collapse caused by heavy rain and strong winds in Kohat has climbed to 11 after two more injured victims died during treatment, hospital officials confirmed.

The death toll from the tragic roof collapse in Lachi Malgin, Kohat, has risen to 11 after two more injured victims succumbed to their injuries, according to hospital sources.

The incident occurred when the roof of a residential house collapsed during heavy rainfall and strong winds, trapping several people under the debris. Rescue teams rushed to the scene and shifted the injured to nearby hospitals, while the bodies of those killed were also transported for legal formalities.

Hospital officials said 14 injured people were initially admitted for treatment. Among them, another injured child later died while receiving medical care, raising the total number of fatalities to 11.

Authorities continue to monitor the condition of the remaining injured as investigations into the incident continue.

The tragedy comes just weeks after another devastating incident in Pakistan in which 14 children were killed, while five children and a female teacher were injured in a separate accident. Two other children received first aid at the scene and were discharged, while the injured teacher remains under treatment at Lahore General Hospital.

The latest incident has renewed concerns over the structural safety of buildings during Pakistan’s ongoing monsoon season, which has brought heavy rainfall and severe weather to several parts of the country.
